Good Morning,

I have been asked to do a salary survey for the cashiering positions
in
other universities Bursar's Office and/or Business Office. Below is a
position summary for the cashiers at the University of Tennessee,
Knoxville:

To collect, deposit, and properly account for all funds received by
the
University of Tennessee:

Disbursement of aid to students according to state and federal
guidelines, administer and

adhere to the University of Tennessee student financial aid guidelines
according to state, federal, and institutional guidelines.

The Accounting Assistant II is responsible to collect student fees and
disburse excess financial aid according to state, federal and
institutional, regulations. To process and answer inquiries regarding
fee waiver, transcripts, parking violations, housing, proficiency
exams,
duplicate diploma fees, emergency loans, scholarships, all star
program,
services fees, graduation fees, and disbursement of State and Federal
funds, while following strict state and federal guide lines.

The Accounting Assistant II is responsible to research and provide
accurate information regarding student accounts providing accurate and
concise information to students, parents, staff and general public,
explain fee payment policies and procedures based on State and Federal
Regulations. The representative of the Bursar's Office is often the
direct liaison between the student/parents and the University of
Tennessee because of knowledge that is required to provide excellent
customer satisfaction.

The above is the basic job duties of a cashier. Each cashier is also
responsible for a specific area such as processing the mail,
processing
scholarships, emergency loans, etc.
