We've used lockbox services for many, many years. Although there are
"nickel and dime" fees, we still consider it a benefit. The money gets
into our account faster, less staff OT during the "rush", etc. We bank
with M&T. The cost v benefit decision depends on volume. We are a large
community college (36K unduplicated headcount) and we administer our
payment plan in-house so it makes sense for us.

At Stonehill College we have always processed student account payments
in house. We are considering going to lock box through Bank of America.
I would appreciate feedback anyone can offer about the lock box system
through Bank of America and/or others you may use. Pluses and minuses
would be great.
