bursar-l: Selling second copy library books and other College assets on ebay/Amazon.com

I have received several inquiries recently from areas such as the
library and science dept to sell items on ebay/Amazon.com. I am
currently exploring our College Store book vendor as a venue to sell the
library's used books, however, this is not very different from the
ebay/Amazon route. Are other schools currently using the web to sell
college assets? If so, do you have stated policies as to who/what can
sell the items? 'I am hoping to proactively limit the potential
onslaught of requests.
