I would be interested in the responses too. We do give a 100% refund to
students that have been called to active duty. We have a Military
withdrawal reason code for this situation. For other appeals, we have a
committee at each of our campuses that meets and determines whether or
not to grant the appeal, however we do not have any standard guidelines.

Subject: Re: bursar-l: "medical withdrawal"

I am looking for some help from other campuses. Our campus has changed
the way "medical withdrawals" are considered. I was wondering if any of
your campuses have any written guidelines on the criteria used to decide
if a student who withdraws after the normal withdrawal date should get a
complete or partial refund. So far we are only talking about
withdrawing for medical reasons but are there other legitimate reasons
for a student to withdraw after the deadline and still get a refund?
Where do you draw the line between giving and not giving refunds in
these cases?

Thank you in advance for your responses.
