At UConn, we permit any infirmary charge but ONLY after the charge has
been through the insurance claims process (whether private or university
insurance) and remains unpaid. We didn't want the fee bill to become a
"medical tracking system" where charges are continually posted and
reversed.

Subject: bursar-l: BILLNG FOR HEALTH CENTER CHARGES
Wondering how other schools handle health center charges for students?
Ours currently lets student charge their tuition accounts for whatever
charge they may incur (sick visits as well as well visits, vacinations,
etc.). It seems like the volume has skyrocketed this past year so I am
reviewing this policy. My preference is to not allow students to charge
their student account for any health center charge outside of sick
visits.
Any feedback on how this is done at your school would be appreciated!
