I have a question on a 1098T that was issued for 2006.
The student received OVR of $2,000; then the OVR money was refunded back
to OVR.
Only the credit side of the transaction appeared on the 1098T; the
return of the OVR was not included since that transaction code is not
captured when we do the 1098Ts.
This means that the data in box 5 was overstated by $2,000.
Do we need to do a revised 1098T for this student?
