We are in the process of evaluating our policy on international
students. We've had several instances where international students have
come to campus with no means of payment (even after they've shown
financial capability for I-20 purposes). Sometimes we can work them
through a payment plan, but sometimes we have to send them home. We
would like to prevent this from happening prior to them entering the
country. Can you share with me your payment requirements for
international students? Do you require pre-payment for the semester or
for the academic year, a line of credit, down payment etc. before
issuing the I-20? Does anyone have any other suggestions?
You input would be greatly appreciated.
