Karen,
We have scaled back and only do three, one on the Friday of the first week
of class, one mid-term and one at the end of the term. The payment deadline
is well before the delete and we charge a $50 late fee. Our intent is to
eliminate those that are not coming, so we do not delete if the student has
made a partial payment (we do not advertise that). We have an in-house pay
plan that students can enroll to avoid the delete. The cost is $50 and they
must (usually) pay the first month's payment. We have around 1300 on the
pay plan.
Our enrollment is just over 18k and we delete around 700 on the first one.
I would estimate around a third re-enroll before our census count on the
21st day of the semester.
This works well for us and we have no plans to change it.
Hope this is helpful.
Regards,
Rolf
