We reconcile tuition revenue (to our billing system and to the GL) compared
to the registrar's enrollment records throughout the semester. Not only is
this good for audits, but it insures the integrity of your billing records.
I use a series of spreadsheets to reconcile.

Subject: Re: Audits
This happened to me recently. I was able to prove the accuracy of the
actual tuition revenue reported, and we are now scrutinizing the process
used to "project" revenue based upon enrollment figures. I argued that any
such "projection" does not accurately capture withdrawals or drops in a
percentage refund period, since enrollment is a point-in-time representation
and doesn't reflect the dynamics of the actual assessment process. I'll let
you know if we come up with a better method for projection!

Are there any schools out there that have a yearly audit conducted and have
to prove your tuition revenue by comparing it against the number of credit
hours produced by your Registrar's office? If so, what has been your
experience? Thanks for any responses.
