RE: Discounting Tuition

Brian,

We do have something similar, but ours is with a local hospital. We provide
the students with the credit and the student will eventually graduate from
our university - but we bill to the hospital for their students and they
collect from the student through payroll deductions - so this might work for
you.

We do all of our billing by student type, so these students get a unique
student type. This way their tuition is discounted. Once the registrations
are applied, I manually transfer the charges from the students' AR account
and create an AR account for the hospital. I then create a billing
statement for the hospital and when they pay, I apply the payment to the
hospital's AR account. This way, the student will not have any balance on
their account and I do not have to split the payment out from the hospital.
It works well.

Hope this helps,
Anita

Subject: Discounting Tuition

Good Morning,

We have a local College of Nursing that sends about 100 students to take
science courses on our campus each semester (the courses are routinely
offered as part of our own programs). We currently bill the students
for tuition. The College has requested we bill them, rather than the
student, and asks what tuition discount we can offer (the College will
pay us in full for all tuition and fees and then collect from the student).

I have no experience with something like this, and am looking for
guidance on calculating a tuition discount. Does anyone have any
experience with something like this?

Thank you,
