Subject: RE: Account Receivables Benchmarks

Good Morning,

As we contemplate direct depositing of refunds from Title IV aid, I had
a few questions for this group:

--do you direct deposit refunds to students' bank accounts? --YES

--have you out-sourced this function? -NO, IN-HOUSE If yes, to a bank?
to other agencies like Higher One? N/A

--when do you disperse these funds to the students' accounts? - THREE
DAYS PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OF CLASSES move in weekend? after drop add
period?

--when you initially release these funds, do you release 100%, 50% etc?
- 100%

--has your receivables gone up which can be attributed to this option? -
NO, DIRECT DEPOSIT HAS BEEN IN PLACE HERE SINCE 1997.

I know these are a lot of questions. Please take a few minutes to
answer them for it would help me make a better decision.

Thank you.

Back when I worked at Boston College, we participated in an
annual NACUBO survey that would provide you with the AR benchmarks I
believe you are looking for. I don't know if they have continued to do
this and Tufts University does not participate in this survey to my
knowledge. You might find out from NACUBO if they continue to gather
this information.

I had asked this a year ago or so and found very little out
there. I would support some sort of process to try to get at this type
of information.

        Thanks.

        Hello Everyone,

II need some assistance. Can someone please direct me to sources
where I can find AR benchmarks of other Universities.

Do other Institutions volunteer this information?

Has anyone work on this type of project before? How did you go
about gathering and researching the information?

        Thanks!
