Good Suggestions, the Professional Development Group (PDG) also runs
excellent conferences that would include many sessions that would be
good for Bursar Training.

Next conference is PDG's 19th National Conference for College &
University, Bursars, Cashiers, Treasury Managers and Student Financial
Services.

It's in San Antonio TX. April 24th - 27th.

Good training and good networking..

Go to conferences that offer substantive training sessions and meet
colleagues who are experienced:

http://www.nacubo.org/

Also, the best place for an intensive overview is the three year program
sponsored by the
University of Kentucky and the Southern Association of College and
University Business Officers called the College Business Management
Institute: <http://www.sacubo.org/> http://www.sacubo.org/

Your vendors provide excellent training in regulations, too, whether it
be the collection agencies, or Perkins loan servicers, or e-bill and
online payment service providers, or your bank.

I have an MBA in Management Information Systems that has served me well.
Good luck!

Mary,

Please relax. This is not a scam. While, yes I've asked the question
in July 2004. As of today, I have not been able to find any trainings
near me. As specified in my email, I live in New York. My job will not
pay for me to travel to Texas, Florida, etc. for trainings and I don't
have the money at this time to pay out of pocket nor did I have it in
July 2004. I called my regional director from NYSOBBA who urged me to
put my request out on this board so I did, again, with the hope that
someone would better be able to answer my question by providing me with
training information that would be close home,

So, on that note, if there is anyone out there who can help me. I'd
greatly appreciate it. No scam intended.
