Separation or leave of absence fee.

    Good afternoon to all my colleagues in Bursar land.
    Hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving.
    Please allow me to intrude into your brains for just a minute with a
    question that based on your answers might create or change policy in our
    college.
    We are contemplating implementing a fee for all those students that
    decide to take a leave of absence and expect their records and
    registration reinstated after returning from leave. Some decide to
    extend their leave for at least two years after separation.
    This has caused aberrations and heartaches with our academic advisement
    , specially our graduate school.
    Please let me know if you charge a leave of absence or separation fee to
    your students when they leave school
    and if you do , how much is the fee and whether is a one time fee or
    charged per year or leave.
    Do you charge a fee for both under grad and grad ?
