Hi, Jeanne,
We had a case like this come up last year where the payor contacted us
before sending payment. What we advised was for payment to be sent by
money order or bank check with no identification other than the
student's. We made it clear to the payor that the student maintained
full access to the account, and thus to transactions posted there, and
that the student had legal rights to information about his/her record.
