    Jeanne,

    We would and have accepted such payments. I don't think we have an
    obligation to tell the student who made a payment and if we faced such an
    issue (student demanding to know who paid), I suppose I would give the
    money back to the anonymous person. I would first tell the student "Don't
    look a gift horse in the mouth."

    The only trouble we have faced with this scenario is when the anonymous
    person also wants gift credit for the payment, which, of course we do not
    provide,as it is not a charitable gift.
