Interesting. I assume most of you saw the article posted at the
following: http://www.treasuryinstitute.org/ebusiness/visa.asp -
basically, the University of Illinois decided to stop taking Visa and
MasterCard because the BankCard companies would not allow them to charge
a convenience fee ...
Will this effect the plans any of you have to go this route?

Carol,
The University of Texas at Austin very recently implemented a 1.75%
convenience charge. It is assessed when a customer makes a payment of
tuition and fees using a credit card.
This is a very timely and sensitive subject - please respond to the the
listserve.

Subject: Credit Card Service Fees
Greetings! We are wondering how other schools are dealing with the
ever escalating services charges associated with accepting credit card
payments for tuition and fees. Is anyone assessing an additional fee
for using a credit card? Or assessing an additional fee across the
board to all students to assist in offsetting this cost to the schools?
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Carol Kolski
