    Subject: Physical Security--Bursar/Student Accounts Office

Here at Hofstra University, we have had several staff members questioning
the physical security in the Office of Student Accounts. Hofstra has a
one-stop shopping concept where students can go to register, make payments
and get other assistance (i.e. deferments or account reconciliations,
    including financial aid information.

    - How is the Bursar's (Student Accounts) Office physically set up at your
    college/university?

    - Do you have an open counter?

    - Is there a glass barrier between the staff and the student?

    - Do you have security cameras?

    - Security personnel in the office/lobby?

I am especially interested in knowing how the location is set up where you
    accept payments.

Any information that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
