We are examining our policies and procedures concerning accounts with
balances that have been written off. We would appreciate if you could
provide us with answers to the following questions. Please answer directly
to me and I will summarize for the list.

    1. When you write-off the balance of an account is it permanently forgiven?

    2. When you write-off the balance of an account do you set a hold or use
some type of indicator to flag the account in case the student returns to
your institution? Do you then attempt to collect it?

    3. Do you use any account balance guidelines in deciding how you will handle
an account? For example, is there an amount under which you permanently
forgive the balance, however, if the balance is above the amount you handle
            it differently?

    Thanks,
