I have been asked by Extended Learning Programs to see if anyone can
help them with these questions regarding the assessment of tuition for
online classes. Please respond to the list serve.

If your institution offers online web-based courses, we would appreciate
your response to some questions regarding tuition. We would be happy to
share the information after it is compiled if you are interested.
Some information about us:
NKU is a public four year institution in northern Kentucky located near
the borders of two other states (Indiana and Ohio). NKU charges a flat
rate tuition for students enrolled in 12-16 hours. Students taking less
than 12 hours pay per credit hour. Students enrolled in more than 16
hours, pay the full-time flat rate tuition, plus 50% per credit hour for
each hour over 16. This summer, NKU will institute a separate rate for
online courses. We would like to know how other institutions who have a
different tuition for online learners calculate their tuition,
especially if a full-time flat rate fee is in place.
Do you have different tuition charges for online courses vs. traditional
classes?
If you answered yes, what is the difference in the two rates? Is the
online tuition different based on in- or out-of-state residency?
Do you charge full-time students a flat rate tuition or by credit hour?
If you have a flat rate tuition and charge differently for online
courses, how do you calculate tuition for a full-time student?
