Hello Everyone,
Indiana University does, at the Bloomington campus, assess a convenience
fee for those payments made by credit card. After years of escalating
costs we felt it no longer feasible to accept the cost directly. In
November of 1991 we began assessing a 2% fee. At that time we also
discontinued accepting Visa as Visa was unwilling to accept our
percentage amount rather than a flat amount.
Our credit card volume took a huge hit - due more to the "no Visa" rule
than the convenience fee (although no one was happy about that either!)
We do take MasterCard and Discover to this day.
If anyone would like additional information, please feel free to contact
me off-list.

Importance: High
Hello Everyone!
Are there any Universities, Colleges or Collection Agencies that charge
an additional fee to cover the fee's charged for processing credit
cards?
Just curious!
