I would like to gather some advise regarding providing students with receipts
for payments made on tuition bills.
When students pay at the counter, we always issue a receipt. Recently (due to
the fact that we try harder to make students accountable for paying their bills)
we have experienced a heavy traffic increase with students walking up to pay
their bills. We spend much of our time providing receipts to students who throw
them in the trash on the way out the door.
I am proposing that we begin providing receipts only to students who pay in
cash and allow those who pay by check to use the canceled check as their
receipt. ( We do not accept credit cards for payment)
Does anyone see a problem with implementing this policy? How do you do things
at your institution?
Thanks much!
