Santa Clara University places a hold and charges a $75 late payment fee after each payment deadline for a term. There are two payment deadlines. The first one is prior to the start of the term and collects for the initial registration. The second one is for the late registration/add period. The hold prevents future registration, changes to the current registration and the release of transcripts.
We have about 4300 undergraduates and 4000 graduate and law students.

Two questions regarding holds on accounts:
When during your semester or year are holds placed on students that do not
pay bills for a particular semester?
And, what does this hold stop them from doing (ie. registering for next
semester, receiving a transcript, receiving their grades, etc.)?
Thanks in advance for your responses.
