Outside scholarships are handled like any other need based aid. They
are recorded as part of the fin aid package and kept on the fin aid data
base. They are posted to the student's account like any other payments
or aid and show up on the bill. If the fin aid people receive a letter
of notification prior to disbursement, then they put up the scholarship
at that point. If we receive a scholarship payment out of the blue, the
bursar side tries to catch those and hand over any documentation to the
fin aid folks to put it up then.
