Tuition is refunded on a declining weekly basis from prior to classes to
the fourth week as follows: 100%, 75%, 66%, 33%, and 25%. Fees and
Room/Board are not refunded once classes start. I admit, it is
difficult to deal with full-time student parents who owe $6000 for one
aborted week at college, but we try to stand firm. Medical emergencies
usually pursuade us to write off nearly everything, but if they had aid
distributed, it ties our hands as far as further write-offs (the school
can't keep Title IV funds and write off charges). I'd like to know of
others' experiences.
For part-time students, we write off the tuition if we get a note from a
doctor about a serious medical issue, or a note from a CHR department if
the withdrawal resulted from a work-related conflict.
