At JBU, Financial Aid is under the VP for Enrollment Management. The

    Subject: FINANCIAL AID TIMING

I have several questions about your financial aid awarding.

    (1) When do you send award letters to prospective students? Do you do them
in "waves" or individually? If you do them in waves, when is your first
    wave?
JBU: We send them on a rolling basis as soon as we can award.

    (2) Do you estimate any federal/state awards on your award letters? Or do
you wait until you know exactly how much a student is to receive?
JBU: If the FAFSA indicates that the student's file has been randomly
selected for verification, this year we are holding those until complet.
All others are awarded on the basis of the FAFSA including federal aid. A
note on the back of the award letter indicates that Title IV funds are
    contingent on final verification.

    (3) Do you verify the student before sending an award letter?
JBU: In the past, no. This year, yes, if selected for verification by
    ED.

    Your help would be appreciated.
