POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
WESTERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY
Director of Admissions
The Director of Admissions has responsibility for planning and conducting
the student recruitment program for Western
Kentucky University and for supervision of a staff of approximately twenty
employees. The person in this position reports to
the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs for Enrollment Management.
Conducting an aggressive student recruitment program, both within Kentucky
and outside the state, is an expectation of this
position. Maintaining and developing excellent relationships between high
schools and the University is also a high priority for
this person. Interactions with Academic Affairs and Student Affairs are
vital to the success of other units and offices within
Enrollment Management and within the Admissions Office. Thus, excellent
interpersonal relation skills are an important quality
for this person.
Other requirements for this position include a Masters Degree and
significant experience in Admissions or a closely related
field. An understanding of how to use software systems as a recruitment
tool is vital, as is the evaluation of transcripts of
transfer students.
The Director of Admissions position is available January 1, 2002.
