At Bowling Green State University in Ohio, we are just putting the latest
billing statement, and a screen showing transactions since the last printed
bill out on a student accessible webpage system using Blackboard's course
portal software. Other screens from the Bursar's office have yet to be
developed for this particular Web application---the next one to be put out
there is the HOLDs info. screen/per student. The go live date for this
whole new website is scheduled for the first part of August.
This campus and our Information Technologies Systems Dept. has yet to
tackle the parent /guardian issue: if, when, and how there may be
webpages for parents to view regarding any particulars about their son's or
daughter's account, etc. The current sentiment is that if the student
wants the parent, or whomever to have access, the student would have to
give that individual the various username and passwords.
Until then, the generic Bursar info. is already out there on the
University's main website.
