sponsor agencies

The University of Kansas is interested in learning how other Universities
are handling their sponsor agencies (agencies that will pay on behalf of a
particular student, i.e. Embassy of Kuwait or the athletic
department). The agencies we currently work with are asking us to perform
more and more special requirements for them. Of course each agency has
their own special needs. It seems like what a particular agency will do
for each of their students is different. We are becoming buried in the
work it requires to make each sponsor happy and are looking at the
possibility of implementing guidelines as to what we are willing to do. If
you have time to answer a few questions, we'd appreciate it.

1) Do you have any guidelines as to what your office will or won't do for
the sponsor agency? or will you do anything that is asked of your office?

2) If you have guidelines, how did those guidelines become established and
would you be willing to share those guidelines with us?

3) If you provide limited services, how do your sponsoring agencies handle
things when they want something you are unwilling to provide? Did you lose
any sponsors when you implemented these changes?

4) Do you charge the sponsoring agencies for providing this service to
their students?

Thanks for you valuable input,
Karen Bailey
