Subject: "Cohort Default Rate Guide" in a draft document is now on IFAP for
the community to review.
The new, revised, comprehensive "Cohort Default Rate Guide
<<
http://ifap.ed.gov/IFAPWebApp/currentDraftPag.jsp>http://ifap.ed.gov/IFAPWebApp/currentDraftPag.>jsp>"
in a draft document is now on IFAP for the community to review. In creating
this publication, the Department worked with representatives of schools,
guaranty agencies, and other interested parties to ensure that the
information it contains is easy to understand and use. Guidance that has
previously been provided in separate "Draft" and "Official" "Cohort Default
Rate Guides" has been combined and published into this single "Cohort
Default Rate Guide". After receiving community comment, the final "Cohort
Default Rate Guide" will be sent to schools and guaranty agencies with the
release of the FY 1999 official cohort default rates. Thereafter, with the
release of each draft and official cohort default rates, the Department
will supplement the "Cohort Default Rate Guide" with change pages. If you
have questions, comments, or suggestions concerning the content, format
and/or structure of the "Cohort Default Rate Guide", please e-mail Tammy
Taylor at
tammy.taylor@ed.gov by Monday, May 7, 2001.

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks again for all of your help!
