Subject: Billling Calendar
We are reviewing our current billing and communications calendar and
would
like to get some feedback from other institutions. If you could answer
the
following questions:
1.How many weeks prior to the start of the fall semester do you send the
First Freshman Bill?
We mail out bills to all registered students around July 5th
which is
seven weeks before the start of classes (August 22 for Fall
2001);
however, our deadline for making payment is August 1st.
2.Do you send out any other financial planning information IE
worksheets,
monthly payment plan information, supplemental loan information? When?
We send out our monthly payment plan information with the fall
bills.
Information is available at our website regarding financial aid,
payment
plans and due dates.
3.Do you prevent the student from attending fall classes if their fall
balance is not paid in full?
Students whose balance remains unpaid as of August 2nd have
their
class schedules dropped for non-payment. They can re-register
(we have
internet registration) but the student must pay any fees due
when they
re-register or their class schedule will be dropped again
for non-payment.
