We do not send bills by email, but as far as students not using their
University email, our IT department has set it up so that they can forward
their University email to any private email address they choose. So, they
receive University email at their AOL or Bellsouth or whatever provider they
use.

Subject: E-mail bills

I think I have noticed on the list that some schools are sending bills by
e-mail. If you are doing this could you answer a few questions for me?

1. Do you use a university provided e-mail address for all bills?
2. If you allow other e-mail addresses, how do you collect them and
make use of them?

We have an extensive e-mail system and every student is assigned an e-mail
address. The thing that holds us back from using the system for billing is
that we know a fairly high number of students use private e-mails and may
not even check their university e-mail. Have any of you overcome this
problem?

Thank you for your continued help.
