Larry: Unfortunately, you cannot require that students receiving Federal
Work Study funds have their pay directly deposited. You need as separate
authorization from the student to do direct deposit of FWS wages, and it
cannot be required or coerced. You'll find this under §675.16(a)(5) in the
rules that were issued October 28, 1999. Anne

Good Morning Bursarland,
We are reviewing our payroll process and would like to mandate
direct deposit of all payroll checks including college work study
students. Are you aware of any Title IV restrictions not allowing
this?
It would sure make it easy if all employees were paid in the same
manner. Thanking you in advance for your responses.
