Hi Pam - we also cancel for nonpays, approx. 3-4 days after the
tuition due date. Doing so also opens up seats for students on
waiting lists.
Bursar and Financial Aid reviews the list of students not financially
cleared. Students with special arrangements or financial aid not
yet on the system (but in the works) are held.
Records Office drops all students not held and a notice is mailed to
students telling them they have been dropped for nonpayment.
We drop again about 2 days after classes begin to open up spots
for the add/drop session. Those registered after the 1st drop who
have not paid and are not held by F.A. or Bursar are dropped.
This spring we dropped approx. 450 and about. 200 were
reinstated. I am trying to convince management we should charge
a fee to students who are reinstated, as both a deterrent and a
penalty.
Bursar holds/blocks students with outstanding financial obligations.
