At Barnard College, last year, we changed our one-time $100 "graduation" fee (which we called a "Senior Fee" to avoid the "I'm-not-attending-graduation-why-do-have-to-pay-this?" argument) to a $12.50 per term "Class Fee" assessed to all matriculating students every semester (theoretically for 8 terms, but if they graduate in 7 or 10, it's still assessed each term. In fact, it's assessed whether they graduate or not.). This fee is a portion of our larger Comprehensive Fee. HTH! We are reviewing the graduation fees charged to our students. We currently charge $75.00 ($100 if they apply late) and the students buy their cap & gown through the college bookstore. The $75.00 is charged even if the student does not participate in the ceremony. We would like to know what other colleges and universities charge or if they don't charge a fee for graduation.
