Boston University only cash checks for faculty and staff. We charged a returned
check fee of $25 when a check is returned to us by the bank. If they
bounced the
check more than 3 times, we deny their check cashing privileges.

We are a public university with approximately 17,000 students. We are
currently evaluating our policy on check cashing and returned checks. Does
your institution cash checks for students, faculty, and staff? Is there a
fee associated with this service? Do you charge a returned check fee. If
so, how much?
