hello,
at DePaul I only brought the balance forward into People Soft from my
legacy system( 7/2000). The last bill date will be used as a key for aging.
I am almost certain that continuing the aging will present a real
challenge. At Loyola University Chicago I made the same decision to only
convert the balance forward from the legacy system to the AMS student
system (1996). Aging was not a problem since aged receivables were carried
in separate system.

Hello. We are in the discussion stage of converting balances from our
legacy system to Banner 2000. We are seeking information on what was
brought from your legacy system to your current computing system from
AR. Did you bring over one balance forward item per student, or bring over
term balances for students that may have multiple term debit and credit
balances. My concern is the proper aging of balances in Banner to determine
our allowance for doubtful accounts and ultimately our bad debt. One
balance forward item in Banner will not allow me to properly determine
aging categories.
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
