RE: Posting of SFA Modernization Blueprint, Second Edition;
"Town Hall" Meeting Tentatively Set for April 27

Dear Colleagues,

It's time for a new iteration of the "Modernization Blueprint," SFA's plan
for updating and integrating its computer systems to better serve students
and ease the burden on schools and our financial partners.

The update is now available on the Blueprint Website at
http://sfablueprint.ed.gov.

A two-week comment period has been set aside for the community to provide
feedback. Comments are due by COB Monday, April 24, and can be submitted
through the "Feedback" form on the Blueprint site or emailed to
Harry_Feely@ed.gov.

A final version of the second iteration of the Blueprint will be posted on
the Website about May 1.

We are pleased that NCHELP once again will bring the community together to
discuss the Modernization Blueprint. This time, Brett Leif of NCHELP is
joining with Dallas Martin of NASFAA to co-sponsor a "town hall" style
meeting. Greg Woods, SFA chief operating officer, and others will discuss
modernization and, once again, answer questions about the plan and SFA's
progress toward "unraveling the hairball."

The "Modernization Blueprint Town Hall Meeting" is tentatively set for
Thursday, April 27.

Details, such as the time and the number to call, will be announced here
soon. Participants should plan to absorb the costs of their telephone calls
and can listen in and speak up for as long as their budget allows.

Thank you for your interest in and support of the goals of SFA's
Modernization Blueprint. We look forward to your comments and continuing to
work with you to do an even better job of helping put America through
school.
