International Student Sponsors

Greetings from the Northwest.

I met with our International Student admissions folks today, and found that
our F-1 students are often ending up in a pickle. It seems that a number
of good-intentioned sponsors have been backpedaling when it comes to
putting up the bucks. Do any of you require sponsors co-sign promissory
notes for these students? If so, has it worked, and what are the problems
associated? As always, your help is greatly appreciated.
