DOCUMENTING PROCESSES

In connection with a recent change to our Campus Information System, we
now need to more formally document in writing, how the processes in one
area relate to and impact/involve other areas. Example, Accounts
Payable can create new vendors on our system but interacts with
Purchasing in doing so, a separate department.

We are looking for a practical "template" (for the lack of a better
term) to use to formalize this documentation of processes to promote
consistency of both appearance and content. It can be PC based or if
you've done it on a word processor Word 97 is our current standard.

We are a small college, one location only, so we don't require anything
extraordinarily elaborate.

Any ideas, or examples would be appreciated. (As I write this a classic
"noreaster" snowfall has begun at our location, so this will give me
something to do for a day or two!)

TIA
