Bucknell University, a highly selective private institution
located in central Pennsylvania, invites applications for the position of
Bursar. The Bursar is a key member of the Finance Office team and
reports directly to the Controller. Primary responsibilities include
management of all university receivables, loan programs, and collection
activities; administration, maintenance, and integrity of all billing,
accounts receivable, loan, and collection processes and systems; and
continuation of the exceptional level of service provided by the Bursar's
Office to students, families, and the campus community.
The successful candidate must have a demonstrated commitment to providing
high quality service; the desire to work in a team environment; and the
ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced setting.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree, three to five years
experience working in finance/accounting, effective interpersonal and
written communication skills, and the proven ability to manage a large,
integrated software system. Preference will be given to candidates with
prior Bursar experience who have a working knowledge of current student
financial aid practices; experience providing financial counseling to
students and families; experience with the BANNER system from SCT Corp.;
and experience with microcomputer tools such as spreadsheets and SQL
based ad hoc report writers.
