Reply from Santa Clara University.
Four year school with 4,300 undergraduates, 2,500 graduates, and 850 law
school students.

This type of course is included in the flat rate for undergraduate tuition,
during the academic year. However, if it is taught during the summer or is
a graduate course, we charge the per unit rate for the school of
enrollment. These are units earned toward graduation, so they are always
charged as any other course is charged.

I was looking at various fees and decided to poll the listserve regarding
fees for arranged courses (regular courses taught one on one at times
convenient for the student and professor) and Independent Study courses
(usually honors projects with the student initiating the course of study
and the professor guiding the student in the learning process). Professors
do receive a small increment of load credit for teaching these courses.
Arranged courses usually result from a student needing a particular course
to graduate at a certain time even though the course is not offered until
the next semester.

If you have these course possibilities, what, if any, fees do you charge?

Are these fees based upon credit hours or by course?

Do you differentiate between the two programs? Charge for one, but not the
other?

Oklahoma Baptist University is a private, four year university with
approximately 2,200 students.
