bursar-l: 3rd party Integration with Banner for Admission Deposits

At Duquesne we currently use Nelnet's QuikPay for our eBilling/Payment
application which works just fine with Banner. They have a separate
application called Commerce Manager that we are using to bring events
all over campus under one payment application.
We want to use this to handle our Admission Deposits. It will integrate
with Banner and populate the deposit tables.
We are looking to see if any other school on Banner has developed a
method to authenticate potential students before passing them off to a
3rd party for payments or other functions. In the student's acceptance
letter, they receive what would be their Banner system ID. We are
looking for a method to have the student enter that number and a few
other identifying characteristics into a webpage, access that
information in Banner, and then hand off to Nelnet the student
information for processing the Admission or Housing deposits. Our
students normally are authenticated in our Portal and then handed off to
Nelnet. Since these accepted applicants are not students, in the Banner
world we were looking to find out if anyone else wrote a script to
handle situations like this that we could integrate with Nelnet.
If you are on Touchnet, Cashnet , etc and have developed something to
handle a process like this, we would still like to hear how you handled
an authentication process in Banner out to a 3rd party for someone who
is not officially a student, but is in your Banner system.
