For Schools that are currently participating in the Yellow Ribbon
Initiative:

For those that have received payment from the YR, how are you processing
those monies? Through financial aid? As a regular student payment?
Also, if you are processing as a regular payment, how are you addressing
the charges for the 1098-T since the student is not actually paying for
those qualified charges?

Thanks,

For Schools that are currently participating in the Yellow Ribbon
Initiative:

1) Have any schools received any funding from the Yellow Ribbon
Initiative?

2) How are schools handling the refunds of student loans for
students that have been verified and are eligible for Yellow Ribbon
funding YET the funding for this program has not been processed and
remitted to the school?

It seems that there are many different ways that schools are handling
this situation of this new initiative.

Thank you.

Hello to all my colleagues in cyber land!

Quickie question:

If you charge students to park on campus (get a parking sticker), what
is the fee?

I'm primarily interested in fees assessed to undergrad commuter
students.

Please and thank you!

We advance the credit to students bill for the YR. Since that hasn't
been paid to the school we consider it a memo entry and only refund
loans to the student that are in excess of the YR credit. That said,
political pressure to appease students on the GI bill is immense and I
suspect I will be told to refund the entire amount any day now. Once
again the VA has screwed up and we pay the price.

We have not received any Yellow Ribbon money yet. Our VA certifying
official told me that we are not required to refund any money to
students until the government payment is received, so we're just waiting
for the YR money to create a "real" credit on their account.

Good Morning,

I have 2 students that are participating in the Yellow Ribbon program
and have received VA funds for one so far. Neither student has
requested loan funds but if they did I would be normally wait until the
loan funds are received before they would be refunded to the student. I
would do this even if the VA funds have not been received since we are
'guaranteed' the funds at some point during the semester.
