The Teacher Professional Development program at my school is a major pain in the butt. I spend more time trying to give the college what they want and they are never happy because they always seem to have exceptions after exceptions. That said, when the college goes out to teach the class they have a paper registration form they complete and attach their check to. The college brings that back then sends the registration form to the Registrar who then creates the student in our system as a non-matric and registers them for the class(es). Payments are deposited into the college account who then post the payment to the students account. Nothing automated about it and I think that's the way the college wants it. I can't help to think they are up to something but I can't get our internal auditor to check into it.

Subject: bursar-l: Automate special course enrollment/billing

We are interested in finding out how other schools handle and automate enrollment and billing for any course offerings to specialized, non-traditional students who take a course or two at a remote location off campus. These students are not in the data base, but would be added in some manner when they enroll in a special course offering. An example might be a teacher taking a professional development course. How have you automated this process to simplify it for the student and your school?

Any information you could share would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
