I agree with the fines; I do not agree with the fees. I believe they
are Title IV fees unless they are not charged to all degree candidates.

Could someone give an example as to what would not be an allowable
charge?

Hello all:

We have quite a few students that do not complete the Title IV
Authorization form. In some cases they may not check off the box to use
funds to pay for allowable charges other than tuition, fees, room &
board. Previously, once funds were disbursed we would generate a refund
check to cover other miscellaneous charges which we held for the student
to endorse over to the University. The problem with this procedure is
that we spent an enormous amount of time contacting the student to come
in to endorse the check and to complete a new authorization form. We
also place holds on their accounts to force them to come to the office.

I am interested in the refunding procedures of other institutions when a
student only receives Title IV funds and does not give permission to use
Title IV funds to cover other miscellaneous charges.

I would appreciate any assistance.

Thanks in advance.
