Hello,

We charge $5.00 for each transcript request. We do not incorporate this
fee into any other flat fee.

Thank you!

Hello everyone. We are in the process of proposing a change to our
transcript fee and were wondering what other schools may be doing. We
are looking to either increase our fee or to add it into part of our
overall general fee charge. Please respond to our questions below:

1. Do you charge a fee per transcript and if so, what do you
charge?

2. Do you have a flat fee in a general fee that covers all
transcript cost so that you do not collect it with each request? If so,
how much do you charge?

Thank you to everyone for your responses.

Susan

Friends:

I wanted to let you know about some upcoming events and activities that
may be of interest.

Tuesday, March 3
Webcast: Implementing the Post-9/11 GI Bill (go to
www.nacubo.org/x11438.xml for more information or to register)

Getting this new program up and running by August 1 will take good
communication and understanding between the bursar, the VA certifying
official, the student aid director, and the registrar at a minimum. I
encourage you to gather your team together in a conference room for this
program so you all start out with the same base of knowledge. Our main
presenter, the director of the office at VA in charge of veterans
education benefits, will focus on administrative issues such as benefit
calculation, payments, overpayments, and the Yellow Ribbon program. Be
forewarned that final regulations have not been issued, and many issues
are still being ironed out but we'll provide the best information
available at this time.

If the date doesn't work for you, change it! The program will be
recorded and available for viewing at your convenience but without the
ability to ask questions. (Note that if you register to participate in
the live webcast, you automatically continue to have access to the
archived version. So if someone on your team is unable to participate on
March 3, they can catch up later.)

Video/Podcast: Overview of the Post-9/11 GI Bill
(www.nacubo.org/x11223.xml)

We've also prepared a prerecorded overview of the new GI Bill that is
available for free from our website. We ask that all webcast
participants watch or listen to a before the webcast. We won't cover
this introductory material in the webcast so we'll have more time for
meatier issues. This 30-minute program, with accompanying slides,
explains the benefits provided under the new Ch 33 veterans educational
benefits program and provides an overview of how it works. You may watch
the video on your computer, or you can download the audio as an MP3
file. (There is a link to the slides right above the box with the
video.) It is also useful for other staff who need to understand the new
program, but don't need the details. The material may be repetitive for
those who attended the regional meetings in January.

NACUBO has partnered with the National Association of Student Financial
Aid Administrators, the American Council on Education, and the
Department of Veterans Affairs to bring you these programs.

March 8-10
2009 Student Financial Services Conference (www.nacubo.org/x10614.xml)
Savannah, GA

There is still time to register for this year's conference. We have a
great program planned, including a speaker from the VA on the new GI
Bill. I know many of you are facing budget woes, but we'd love to see
you there. Attendees often tell us that they come away with ideas that
immediately save them money.

Negotiated Rulemaking on HEOA

The Department of Education has launched 5 teams to work on drafting
regulations for various parts of the Higher Education Opportunity Act.
NACUBO has representatives of two of them: Team II covering
school-based loan issues and Team V on grant programs and general
provisions. ED is posting information on the work of all teams on their
website at www.ed.gov/policy/highered/leg/hea08/index.html#neg-reg.
I'll be over there for most of the next week. It's possible that issues
will arise where we'll need quick feedback from more institutions so I
may use the bursar listserve to gather information quickly. Thanks to
all of you in advance for being such a great resource! Anne
