Hi Geri,
Will you please send me a copy of the compilation? At Pacific, we charge
a monthly late fee of $50 for any balances greater than $250. We do not
contact students directly that are delinquent except via their monthly
electronic bill. If the student leaves the university with a balance, we
transfer the account to the Student Loans/Collections Department for
servicing. We assess a $15 collections fee once the balance reaches a 90
delinquent status within the Loan Department. We assign these balances
to outside collection agencies after internal collection efforts fail.
I hope this was helpful!
Have a great day,
Suzette

Subject: bursar-l: service chgs/internal col chgs
Hello again! You have all been so helpful with the registration policy
that of course, I need your help again. I do have a compilation of all
the responses on the registration policies and those of you who would
like that - just email me and I will send it to you.
This time I would like to know if you charge a fee for students with a
past due balance - if so is it a service charge that is percentage
based, is it more of a late fee that is based on how much is owed or
what.
My next question is- if you have an internal collection area - what
percentage do you charge the students for internal collection?
Thanks so much - you are all awesome!
