At CSU, we do not charge a specific fee for dropping a class, but instead do not offer any amount of refund after the drop/add period. The only way they receive a partial refund, is if they completely withdraw from the University by a certain day.
****Log into MyCSU and under the Student tab you can view your account, sign up for e-refund, and view your statement.****

At Duquesne University, we have a process in place that allows us to
electronically transmit a certain dollar amount to our bookstore for the
students that have a verified credit balance. We only do this for the
students that request this. At the time of the transfer, the student
account is charged whatever amount we transfer. We can then process our
refunds for any other credit balances. After about 5 weeks, we close out
the book vouchers and any amounts not spent are then refunded to the
students. This process has worked well for us.

At CSU we allow students to purchase their books using their Student ID
cards if they have excess financial aid. When we start processing refunds
we have to deactivate cards to prevent students from charging their books
when we are working on their refund. Do any of you use a similar process?
If you do how do you handle the charging of books once you have begun
issuing refunds? Thank you for your assistance.

Good Morning,
The University of Tennessee is looking at charging students for dropping
classes. Students are currently charged a percentage for dropping
classes after classes begin depending on the date they drop.
Do any of you currently charge a fee? If so, please share your
information with me or direct me to your website.
Thank you.

Any school out there who currently uses Quikpay from Nelnet to do direct deposit of PLUS refund checks? If so, would you please contact me via the method of your choosing? I'd like to discuss your approach. Thanks

We are researching the possibility of placing advertising logo(s) on
our University ID Card as a means of increasing revenue. If you have
experience in this area and would be willing to share it with me, please
email me offline and I would like to contact you and get some specifics
regarding how you chose your merchants, pricing, etc.
Thank you for any information you can share with us on this practice.

At Cal U, students are permitted to purchase books and charge their student account until noon on the final day of the add/drop period. At the end of that same day, enrollment verification is done and the financial aid is posted to their accounts. Refunds are processed the following week.

Good morning,
I'm sure that most of you have heard of the recently reported breach at
Heartland Payment systems. Info is on a website that they set up
http://www.2008breach.com
We began using Heartland as our credit card processor in July of 2008
and are interested in hearing how other Heartland users are handling
this situation. We have referred the matter to our legal counsel and
are working to figure out how best to proceed to notify our students
and/or cardholders.
Any insights that other schools could provide would be greatly
appreciated. If you would like to communicate directly, my e-mail
address is goldman_at_ucc.edu
Thank you,
