It’s my understanding that the new regs allowed a policy that required EFT, but, if the student refuses to give you their banking info then you have no choice but to issue checks within the required timeline. We are looking into printing once a week, stopping the mailing of checks and going to a pickup system only on Friday’s from 3-5 pm. Any student who does not pick up their check we will mail once the 21 days timeline is up.

Hi Trudy, I do not believe you can make it mandatory. One of the schools I used to work at got themselves in trouble for requiring mandatory direct deposits for students who were being paid through the Federal Work Study program. You can strongly encouraging it, but I would be careful with the word "mandatory". Stephen
